Natural Quitting? Do You Really Believe It's Going to Be That Easy?
Evolution Of A SmokerEvolution of a smoker How does a killer habit like sucking in tobacco smoke ever come into being ..... Natural Ways to Stop Smoking
Ok. This is it! You've made up your mind to quit smoking and you're going to stick to it. Good for you.
But you still need to find your Quit Smoking Ace, because in the battel to beat the weed, motivation means the difference between winning and being beaten by a tube of tobacco.
There are lots of different forms of help out there.
You could try to reduce the craving by using nicotine patches, or chewing gum.
You might opt for one of the 'painless' routes, like hypnotherapy, laser therapy, or accupressure - a very sensible choice, in my view.
Perhaps your doctor will prescribe Zyban to help you get over the physical symptoms of withdrawal from tobacco.
You may even decide to quit cold turkey - which is absolute murder, but it doesn't last forever, although it certainly feels that way when you're suffering the withdrawal pangs. Someone is reputed to have said of sea-sickness "You don't die of it, but you wish you could" and speaking as one who has sufffered both, I'd much rather endure a month of sea-sickness than of giving up fags cold turkey!
Perhaps - and to my way of thinking this is pure masochism - you may even be strong willed enough to gradually cut down your cigarette intake.
Personally speakin, I'm opposed to the use of nicotine substitutes as a way of giving up smoking. I think that in many ways they make a difficult painful task even harder. But a lot of people do find that they help.
However, if you're the rugged individualistic type who thrives on challenge, then you'll certainly find that giving up the weed is a big enough challenge for anyone! You'll need something to occupy your mind, so why not take this opportunity to make a lot changes in your lifestyle? Then you'll have the satisfaction of finding, at the end of the day, that not only have you broken with a dangerous, destructive and expensive habit, but you'll feel and look healthier and enjoy a new, health concious way of life.,
